   The “ 靠+O” construction is used to introduce the method, means, or basis that an action depends upon. It is often used in front of other verb-object constructions to form sentence with serial verb phrases, for example, 
  
   律师靠帮助别人打官司赚钱。
   他们靠自己的一双手生活。
   老王靠这封信打赢了官司。 
   丁力波的好成绩是靠他的努力得到的。
