动作或状态的持续
the continuous aspect of an action or a state
The aspect particle “着”is placed directly after a verb to express the continuous aspect of an action or a state. For example: 我们说着、笑着。 林娜宿舍的们开着。 胳膊这么弯着。 她穿着红的旗袍。
When used in a sentence with serial verb phrases, in addition to emphasizing that the two actions in the sentence are happening simultaneously, the construction “V+着(+O)” also frequently indicates the manner of the action expressed by the second verb. For example: 我们骑着自行车回学院。 他笑着说:“应该祝贺你!” 你们还带着花儿来看我。
The negative form of this construction is “没(有) +V +着”,and its V/A-not-V/A question form is “V+着+ 没有”。 For example: 电视开着没有? ---电视没有开着。 你带着护照没有? ---我没有带着护照。 他没有躺着看电视,他坐着看电视呢。
The construction “V+ 着”is frequently used with such words such as “在”,“正在”and “呢”。 For example: 林娜躺着看电视呢。 他正在打着电话呢。 他在开着车呢。
Note that complements should not be used after the “V+ 着”construction. We cannot say “他写着汉字写十分钟”,for example.
