Still / Yet adv. 还 ...(呢)...
The usage of还(hái) ...(呢(ne) )... 还(hái) …is usually placed after the subject of a sentence and before a verb phrase to mean a situation or an action is still going on. 呢(ne) ...associated with还(hái), usually placed at the end of the sentence to emphasize the fact.
Examples: 1, It has already been two hours, but he hasn’t boarded the airplane yet. 已(yǐ) 经(jīng) 两(liǎng) 个(gè) 小(xiǎo) 时(shí) 了(liǎo) ,可(kě) 是(shì) 他(tā) 还(hái) 没(méi) 上(shàng) 飞(fēi) 机(jī) 。
2, It seems that she didn’t go to sleep the whole night. Right now she is still on the Internet. 一(yí) 个(gè) 晚(wǎn) 上(shàng) 她(tā) 好(hǎo) 像(xiàng) 没(méi) 有(yǒu) 睡(shuì) 觉(jiào) 。现(xiàn) 在(zài) 还(hái) 在(zài) 上(shàng) 网(wǎng) 呢(ne) 。
3, She has already worked for ten hours but she still has not finished the article. 她(tā) 已(yǐ) 经(jīng) 奋(fèn) 战(zhàn) 了(le) 十(shí) 个(gè) 小(xiǎo) 时(shí) ,但(dàn) 是(shì) 她(tā) 还(hái) 没(méi) 完(wán) 成(chéng) 那(nà) 篇(piān) 论(lùn) 文(wén) 。
4, She has not been to America. 她(tā) 还(hái) 没(méi) 去(qù) 过(guò) 美(měi) 国(guó) 呢(ne) 。
