按时（Adv.）“on time”
按时 literally means "according to the time". 按means "according to",and 时 means "time". It is always placed before the verb phrase,and "the time" is understood by both speakers and listeners. Sometimes, 按时can be replaced by 按期. However, 按期emphasizes "on schedule" rather than "on time".
