“in the capability of; as” 作为( Prep.)

作为can be followed by a noun or noun phrase, used at the beginning of the sentence to form a prepositional phrase.

Example:
1. 作为出口商，他知道外国人喜欢什么。
As an exporter, he knows what foreigners like.
2. 作为经理，应该考虑员工的要求。
As the manager, you should consider the employee’s need.

Substitutive drills:
作为零售商，他常常拿到回扣。
作为老板，大卫要给员工红利。
作为进口商，一定要乐谱销售网。
作为买方，我们觉得商品的价格太高。
