Assembly（Chinese:集结号 Pinyin: jí jié hào） 2007

War, likes a feast of death. Once one sets foot on the battlefield, he is ready to give up his precious life. However, to Millet, the lofty honor belonging to 47 brothers is more valuable than life. He exhausted his life time to find the dead comrades-in-arms only to give honor to these young heroes.

In the Huaihai Campaign in 1948, the war between the People's Liberation Army and the Kuomintang troops was unprecedented fierce. The Company Commander Millet accepted a Zuji Zhan's mandate and he agreed with his Head to retreat by using the assembly as the order. If the assembly did not sound, then the entire company must adhere to the last minute. In an abandoned old Yao Chang, 47 soldiers bravely fighting, but they finally could not defeat the enemy. Millet watched his comrades die one by one, but he could do nothing to save them. Platoon leader Jiaoda Peng, who is the right hand (very important to someone) to Millet, said that he has heard the sound of assembly before dying. Millet retreated with only a few brothers in which some agreed to retreat while some disagreed. Millet found other companies had already retreated, he was suspected of neglecting the sound of the assembly that resulted in the death of his comrades. Being shocked and feeling guilty, he alone carried a few packs of explosives to the trenches of the enemy. All the other soldiers eventually died.

The film was directed by Chinese director Feng Xiaogang and acted by stars Zhang Hanyu and Deng Chao,et.

Assembly is the signal of the transformation of the Chinese military-based films by using the modern subject to make blockbusters which is significant to Chinese movies. The film praises the human and the value of life and completes the task of reconstructering revolutionary heroism by socialist revolution.
