云锦 Yun Jin (cloud-like brocade)

        云锦是我国优秀传统文化的杰出代表，由于用料考究，织工精细，图案色彩典雅富丽，宛如天上彩云般的瑰丽，故称“云锦”。现代只有南京生产，故常称为“南京云锦”，至今已有1580年历史。在古代丝织物中“锦”是代表最高技术水平的织物。而南京云锦则集历代织绵工艺艺术之大成，元、明、清三朝均为皇家御用品贡品，因其丰富的文化和科技内涵，被专家称作是中国古代织锦工艺史上最后一座里程碑，公认为“东方瑰宝’、“中华一绝”。南京云锦不但具有珍稀瑰宝、昂贵的历史文物价值，而且它亦是雅俗共赏、典藏吉祥如意的民族文化象征。

Yun Jin (cloud-like brocade) is an excellent representative of Chinese traditional culture. It is noted for choice material, exquisite fabrication, elegant and gorgeous pattern, rich colors and got the name of Yun Jin since it was as splendid as the iridescent clouds in the sky. Yun Jin has a long history of 1580 years but it is now produced in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, China exclusively, therefore it is often referred to as Nanjing Yun Jin. Jin represents the highest technical level of the ancient silk fabrics. Having absorbed the essence of ancient fabric technology of the past periods, Nanjing Yun Jin became a master piece of ancient art, serving as the royal tribute supply in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Thanks to its rich cultural and scientific content, Yun Jin is referred to as the last milestone in the development of brocade fabrication in ancient China by specialists and enjoyed the fame of "oriental gem". Nanjin Yun Jin is not only rare treasure and valuable cultural heritage, but also a national symbol of auspiciousness, which suits both refined and popular tastes.
