Zhaoqing

        

Zhaoqing is a beautiful city with a long history of more than two thousand years. Located in the west central of Guangdong province, it covers an area of 15,000 square kilometer, with a population of over 3.9 million. Zhaoqing governs 8 counties (cities, districts), namely, Duanzhou District, Dinghu District, Gaoyao City, Sihui City, Guangning County, Deqing County, Fengkai County, Huaiji County, and Zhaoqing New Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone. To the east there is Guangzhou & Foshan Economic Circle and to the west there is Pan Pearl River Delta. Its urban area is an important part of the cities of Pearl River Delta. It takes only one hour's ride from Zhaoqing to Guangzhou.

The Grand Blueprint

The Tenth Congress of Zhaoqing Municipal Committee of CPC has set a guideline of constructing a prosperous, civilized, harmonious and environment-friendly big city of Zhaoqing. In the next five years, Zhaoqing will attach much more importance to the strategy of 'expanding eastwards' and accomplish all the objectives set in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. Pan Pearl River Delta Economic Circle will play a positive role in bringing forward the development of the city. We will concentrate on promoting three sub-regions: the Eastern & Southern Industrial Sub-region, the Central City New Sub-region, and the Mountain Area Sub-region. In order to turn Zhaoqing into a , we will make every effort to attract more investment and capital . We will enhance harmony between man and nature to push the whole society onto a path to civilized development featuring the growth of production, an affluent life and a sound ecosystem.

Solid Development Foundation

Zhaoqing enjoys perfect infrastructure, such as water-supply facilities, electricity-supply facilities, communication network and transportation. National Highway No.321 & Highway No.324, the Railway Sanmao ( from Guangzhou to Maoming), and the Highway Guangzhou-Zhaoqing get through the whole city. The 500-kelometer Round-the-city Highway has made the entire administrative districts of Zhaoqing link together. Xijiang River, which traverses Zhaoqing, is well known as the "Golden Watercourse ". It has a shipping capacity of 3000 tons.

Zhaoqing has an excellent industrial foundation with a number of industries such as electronic information, bioscience, foodstuffs, beverage, vehicle hardware, mechanism, textile & garment, forest product chemical industry, building materials etc. Many enterprises has been set up here, such as Fenghua Hi-Tech, Star-Lake Bioscience, Blue Ribbon Beer, etc. All of them enjoy a good reputation home and abroad. An Excellent Ecological Environment

The city is blessed with an excellent ecological environment and attractive sceneries, with honest people and secured social atmosphere. Zhaoqing is a famous historic and cultural city at state-rank, a National Garden City, a National Hygienic City and a National Advanced City on Civilization.

Located in Duanzhou District of Zhaoqing, the well-known scenic spot Seven Star Crags combines the gracefulness of the West Lake and the beauty of the crags of Yangshuo. Dinghu Mountain is in Dinghu District. It is called "the Oasis on the Tropic if Cancer" because it has thick primitive forest which is very rare on the Zone of Tropic of Cancer. Hence the mountain has the first rate of Eco-environment, and the highest content of oxygen anion in China.

In order to build Zhaoqing into a Western Garden of Pan Pearl River Delta, a tourist network called "One-Thousand-Li Tourism Corridor" has been formed. It consists of Seven-Star Crags, Dinghu Mountain and Linyang Gorge etc. This will provide more opportunities for further exploiting of tourist resources and improve the development of the tertiary industry.

An Enormous Potential for Further Development

Zhaoqing is rich in natural resources and local produce. It is known as "City of Gold" in Guangdong province because it is rich in fifty kinds of mineral resources, such as gold, jade and so on. The traditional handicraft Duanzhou-Ink-Stone ranks the first among the four most famous ink-stones in China. The jade-stone, gypsum, granite and limestone mines here are all ample in reserve and superior in quality. The city is also abundant in hydraulic resources. Zhaoqing is also reputed as "City of Bamboo", "City of Cassia", "City of Orange", "City of Rosin " and the base of Chinese southern medicine. Thus investors are provided with sufficient resources.

All-Rounded Services

A series of measures have been taken by Zhaoqing Government to support the development of local enterprises. Laws and regulations that are not in accordance with the WTO rules are abolished. What's more, in order to attract foreign investment, taxes and payments are standardized for enterprises and favorable policies are granted to foreign investors.
