老师问：为什么人死后身体是冷的？ 没人回答。 老师又问：没人知道吗？ 终于，有个学生回答说：那是因为心静自然凉。
Teacher asked：“Why people’s bodies beacome cold after they died?”
No one answered
“can anyone give me an answer?” the techer urged.
Finally, a student said：“that’s because people feel cool when they being calm”
What does the answer mean? That’s what I’m going to tell you.“心静自然凉” is a chinese proverb, people feel cool when they being calm is its meaning, if we want to understand the joke above, we have to know each word’s meaning in the proverb.
According to this, 心静 can also be seen as the heart keeps quiet and do not beat anymore which indicates the person is dead. And the word “凉” means similarly to the word “cold”. So why dead men’s bodies are cold? Based on the traditional proverb,because their hearts are motionless.
But when shall we use the proverb“心静自然凉”？Well, if your friend stomped around, never stop complaining the hot weather, you could tell him“relaxed,心静自然凉”。
