Besides A also B 除了……还/也……
In addition to the usage introduced in Dialogue2, Lesson2 and in this lesson,this sentence pattern can have two subjects or two topic sometimes. If it has two subjects, the first one should appear after 除了. It is used correlatively with 也 in this pattern to mean“there is someone else in addition to someone given.
除了 + Subj1 + (以外) Subj.2 + 也 + VP
Example:
1. 除了大卫，玛丽也投资股票。
Besides David, Mary also invests in stocks.
2. 除了今天，明天也会有个会。
There is a meeting tomorrow in addition to today.
