顺便Adv. "by the way; in someone's convenience"
As an adverb, 顺便 is used in two situation:
(1) Taking the opportunity of doing A, one tries to do B at the same time without much extra effort.
Examples:
1. 去中国旅行的时候，我顺便回老家看了看。
While traveling in China, I went to visit my hometown.
(2) One is going to do A and someone else asks the one to do B for him at the same time.
Examples:
2. 你出去的时候，请顺便把门关上。
When you go out, please shut the door.
