作为（prep.） "as"
作为 can be used as a preposition to mean "in the capacity" or "in the role of". The phrase with 作为 can be placed either in front of the subject or after.
Subj. +作为+（subj.）+VP
Examples:
1. 作为公司的总裁，你有责任执行这个合同。
As the CEO of the company, you are responsible foe executing this contract.
2. 我作为银行经理，可以帮您办理外汇存款手续。
As the bank manager, I can help you to go through the procedure for foreign currency deposit.
作为 can also be used a verb to mean "to take as" or "to regard as".
