Very / Quite   挺

挺(tǐng)       very / quite      Adv.

The usage of 挺(tǐng):
It’s similar to很(hěn). However, 挺(tǐng) is mostly used in spoken Chinese, and the degree of emphasis is not as strong as很(hěn).

Example:
1, This coat is quite good, you should buy it.
这(zhè) 件(jiàn) 衣(yī) 服(fú) 挺(tǐng) 好(hǎo) 的(de) ，你(nǐ) 应(yīng) 该(gāi) 买(mǎi) 下(xià) 来(lái) 。

2, This book is quite interesting.
这(zhè) 本(běn) 书(shū) 挺(tǐng) 有(yǒu) 意(yì) 思(sī) 的(de) 。

3, The weather is quite hot today.
今(jīn) 天(tiān) 天(tiān) 气(qì) 挺(tǐng) 热(rè) 的(de) 。

4, The airport is quite big.
这(zhè) 个(gè) 飞(fēi) 机(jī) 场(chǎng) 挺(tǐng) 大(dà) 的(de) 。

5, Your English is quite good.
你(nǐ) 的(de) 英(yīng) 语(yǔ) 挺(tǐng) 好(hǎo) 的(de) 。
